Loan Checks Disbursed?

Hello,
Does anyone know when our GradPlus/Stafford loans get disbursed? Onthe calendar of events it says that "private" loan checks will be available August 11th...does that include GradPlus? Basically, when do we get the money we need to live off of for a semester?

IIRC, federal law prohibits refunds from being issued before the first day of classes.

That's not what he asked though. He said, "money to live off of." The disbursement to the school date is not when he would get his check of the excess loan money for COL.

When you get approved for a grad plus loan, how soon do you get the money? Is it before school starts or after tuition is paid for? My school doesn't have dorms and I would need the loan to look for apartments.
