I'm headed to Pitt too. I will be living in Highland Park. When I went to find housing, I noticed that a lot of grad students live in Shadyside and Squirrel Hill, but a lot also live in Highland Park, Friendship, Regent Square and Bloomfield. Highland Park was perfect for what I was looking for (a 2 bedroom, within bussing distance, clean and quiet, and allows pets), but there is a lot of great housing in each of the areas I mentioned.

I got a duplex in the very northmost section of Squirrel Hill -- it's almost considered Point Breeze I think. It seems to be a nice quiet neighboorhood, which is what I was looking for.

Hey All :D !! I'm heading to Pitt also! I found an apartment in Shadyside. It's a nice, secure one bedroom apartment, and it's very close to bus stop. Is there a Facebook group? I'll be moving to Pittsburgh at the end of the month or the first week of next month. When is everyone moving?
