Re: NYU Law Class of 2011
I thought about living in Philly and taking my helicopter to school everyday, but with the price of gas it just isn't practical.

Can you survive without stress for about 4 months? Plenty more will come after that.

Living in New York just might be a bit different than living in Georgia... maybe...

So I'm looking at the housing website... is this really $1400-$1600 PER PERSON to share a two bedroom apartment?

Re: NYU Law Class of 2011
I know D'Ag is $1400 per bedroom...and it's like three conjoined closets (two bedrooms, one "common room"). You seem surprised(?) That's fairly regular for the type of place we're going to be looking for as law school students.
I paid $1725 and got a STEAL for my bedroom in a four bedroom, two bath, floor through in TriBeCa (just east of the Village).

I thought NYC and San Francisco were comparable. I share a two bedroom for a TOTAL of $1400 per month. I thought the apartments ran for $1400 together (so $700 for each person).
lol.

Does LRAP pay back your entire PlusLoan (with housing/living) or only tuition?

I just denied my scholarship. I'm heading west!
Babs -- the lrap pays up to cost of attendance which includes the entire budget (like $65,000) minus your student contribution and other crap that they calculate out of it. You should have gone to the lrap session. It reminded me of the movie IT -- pretty scary, pretty corny, and there was a clown.

Re: NYU Law Class of 2011
for those of you with $1700/month apts (heck, even $1500 dorms), how do you do it/plan to do it? take out commercial loans above grad plus? have a lot of savings? not eat, drink, or shop?

I'll take out a larger PlusLoan and live cheaply. 2nd and 3rd years I'll look for a cheaper place in Brooklyn.

Anyone seen any student blogs that give an inside look at NYU (like Berkeley's http://boaltalk.blogspot.com/)?

Nothing else needs doing to save the spot, right?

As long as you signed the intent to enroll form when you submitted the deposit, which I think you need to do online before they even let you get to the deposit page, then you are fine. Online, all it is is writing your full name in a text field and hitting submit.JazzyJazz wrote:Deposit = Paid.

Seriously? What are you waiting for?
Now there's a charge.
