Interesting. I also did my CBT about a month ago. I guess I'll wait a little more and contact them if it still doesn't start working.stephenr86 wrote:I have no idea when they start working, but I believe it is shortly after you do computer based training. I did my computer based training a month ago and my first.last@law.columbia.edu email address is working now. (I just checked it when I saw your post).

It seems to take a bit longer than usual to receive emails through that address, but mine started working once I did CBT.

I figured out why my alias wasn't working.
If someone else out there finds his/her first.law@law.columbia.edu address not working, make a post here and I'll explain it.

Trex, Im with you. Too many websites. Theyve given us alot, and its been great. But, what I really want is a bookmark or large sticker or something with all the sites and contact people for each dept listed in an aestetically pleasing way. The website isnt really that user friendly either.00TREX00 wrote:Waay too many Columbia related websites to keep track of.. I don´t know that I´m cut out to be a law student.
Oh well, Im over it. Yay Columbia!

Good news fellow Lenfest people, theres no bedbug infestation! The 2 or 3 apartments with bedbug residue have been treated and are all set. All other rooms and common areas have been inspected and found not to be affected.

Has anyone heard back about their immunization form? I sent mine in a few weeks ago and haven't gotten an email about it like I thought we were supposed to. Didn't know if it just takes them awhile or they don't like my doctor or what.

I got an email back in June (about a week or so after I sent in the form) that stated:Gators08 wrote:Has anyone heard back about their immunization form? "We have received your Immunization (Measles, Mumps and Rubella)
documentation and would like to inform you that your documentation is
complete, and you are compliant with New York State Public Health Law
(PL2165)."
It was sent to my Columbia email, but I got it in gmail through forwarding. Have you been checking your Columbia email? If you have sent in the form, are checking all emails, and haven't heard, you might want to check with them.

M51, you should probably call them or e-mail them to make sure all is OK with your application.

According to Elizabeth, "someone" screwed up and forgot to approve my file until I reminded them July 1st. So, after 15 days of being in constant contact with 4 different people from UAH, I'm being told I'd be assigned housing next week earliest, assuming they don't push back that date again like they've been doing these past two weeks. Kindda kills the whole pre-CLS excitement.NewHere wrote:M51, you should probably call them or e-mail them to make sure all is OK with your application.

The Finaid material says that CLS starts certifying loans in June and we can start checking our loan status with our lenders in mid-July. Has anyone's loans been approved yet?

Yup, I've gotten approved and received my estimated dispersal dates. I'm using Citibank.
Have you completed the online entrance interview yet? Mine weren't approved until I did that.

Ah ok, makes sense. Regarding the entrance interview: on the last page it asks for our expected graduation date (and we have to put in the DAY in addition to the month and year), what did you put for that? I don't think Columbia's 2011 academic calendar has been released yet...Gators08 wrote:Yup, I've gotten approved and received my estimated dispersal dates. I'm using Citibank.

and how long did it take for your loans to be approved after you did the entrance interview?

I don't remember what date I used. If it won't let you leave the day blank I probably used this year's graduation date.
And it was a matter of a few days for the loans to get approved after I did the entrance interview.

Oh gosh, I just looked at all my Columbia-related email after being away for 10 days, this is a lot to handle. I definitely haven't gotten to the "secret UN tour" part yet, that is awesome. And now that I'm back from my vacation all of the last minute details and moving issues are front and center... Oh well, I'm still incredibly excited about moving to New York! I also have another very exciting countdown going, t-minus 3 weeks until I don't have to have a car anymore!
Oh, and M, that sucks so hard about your housing, but I guess there's a little reassurance in the fact that you have Elizabeth on your case. Good luck, fingers crossed!

Re: Columbia Law Class of 2011
Hmmm I'm a little nervous now, becuase I did my loan apps with Citi as well and haven't been approved, however I don't think I have done any entrance interview, is this through a Columbia website or a Citi website? I only signed an online promissary note and sent Columbia a form regarding the amount of one of my loans (Staffored I think) im wondering if there is anything additional I was supposed to do.

Re: Columbia Law Class of 2011
My loans still haven't been certified and I did my entrance interview a couple days ago (and submitted all the other forms on time), so it looks like Columbia hasn't gotten around to approving everyone's yet.
The entrance interview is on SSOL. Once you login to SSOL, look for the Financial Aid tab on the main menu - the option for completing the entrance interview is under the FA tab.
My understanding is that you also had to print out a copy of the promissory note and submit it to Columbia along with the form stating the amount requested.

I believe you did have to send Columbia your MPN. If you didn't that may well be the problem and you may want to fax it to FinAid tomorrow.
Seriously? What are you waiting for?
