Time between award and negotiation?

Is there some customary etiquette that stipulates one should wait a certain amount of time after receiving an award offer before trying to negotiate? Or is it okay to essentially respond immediately?

I don't know if there is any customary timeframe, but I literally sent my negotiation email the day I got the offer of admission. It worked out for me.
