Fordham Law- Applying for outside scholarships
Hey TLS family
I'm gonna be very straight forward: I'm a white jewish new york city guy going to Fordham Law next year. I got in the low 160's on my LSAT, I have a 3.85 GPA.
Are there any outside merit or otherwise-based scholarships I can apply for?
I happen to be a pretty good writer if that info helps...
Please let me know if there's any more info I can share which can be helpful!
TIA

Yea. The LSAT scholarship. Unfortunately it's a test, but if you do really well you can get great outcomes. Hth

He's being a wiseass. He's saying to do well on the LSAT and the school will give you a better scholarship. Not helpful.pipipipi wrote:What's the LSAT scholarship? This is actually the only real option you have to realistically increase you scholarship by more than $500-1000. And it's always an option. If you choose not to avail yourself of it, that's your choice. But as things currently stand, the only thing that will make Fordham a prudent financial decision is getting your LSAT into a range that will get you a better scholarship offer from the school.Philza wrote:Thanks, but that's not an option.CPA-->JD wrote:Step 1) Take June LsatPhilza wrote:Thanks! 20k/yr from Fordham isn't that much and will leave you in tons of debt.

I wish it was an option, but that would force me to take a year off, which I can't afford to do now. I would love to, but considering other things going on in my life, it just isn't possibleMikey wrote:Why is it not an option?Philza wrote:Thanks, but that's not an option.CPA-->JD wrote:Step 1) Take June LsatPhilza wrote:Thanks! Who said anything about taking a year off? I know someone who got in with a sizable scholarship in July last year. You are already in so just take the test for the leverage it can give you.Philza wrote:I wish it was an option, but that would force me to take a year off, which I can't afford to do now. if you do well on the June test, you could potentially use it to negotiate more money. But if you do way better than expected, you might want to think about reapplying for better options at better schools.Philza wrote: The june test can make a difference for me? I had no idea.
