I just got an email that i am going to IL. Considering the nearest airport is almost a hundred miles away, driving seems like a viable option. If anyone wants to carpool from Texas, let me know.

Applied in early January...still no word. Anyone talk to the CLEO people about the next batch of acceptances?

I was thinking a few days ago "I wish they gave us student loans ahead of time before school started". You mean loans like from people or getting a loan from a bank

i dont think its possible to get a student loan until enrolled somewhere, so i think i may take out one from a credit union or something similar.

I would not worry too much. It took me over two months to get a response from CLEO. You should still have some hope.

if you have been accepted to a member school, fax over your acceptance asap, it may speed up the process.

i saw that someone else on here had asked the member school that accepted them to nominate them for cleo. maybe that could help?

Are we provided with a place to stay? Do we stay in college housing?

From what i gather, i think we are staying in the dorms but i am not %100 on that. I think we could all use a little more information from CLEO.

+1 yeah wtf right? CLEO is only 3 months away-that's cutting it pretty close. Hopefully we'll know whats up soon.

By the way I noticed you got into Hastings congrats...I might be seeing you there...Were you accepted through CLEO?

I read last years thread for CLEO, some people didnt get their info until like 1-2 weeks out from CLEO, it depends on how each location will handle our room/food/transportation etc...

I think we will get an email from the director of the program for the location u are attending.

Hey! Just a little 4-1-1 for y'all. The only people who had a guaranteed date for first consideration and notification (end of January) were those who applied before the early deadline, which was November 28, 2008. And "applied" doesn't mean "postmarked"...your complete application had to literally get to the CLEO office by November 28. I don't think calling to find out your status will do you any good. I applied before the early deadline, and the answer I got when I called to inquire about my status at the end of January was a generic "you'll hear by the end of the month". So, I can't imagine they'd be able to give you any specific information about when you'll hear back 'cause there's no such date for people who applied after the early deadline. I still had to wait a little over two months for my decision even after applying early, so those of you who applied after Nov. 28 will probably have to sit tight.

This is the way it works: a) they send acceptance letters to a group of people with a deadline to submit a $200 dollar deposit and a second deadline to submit the remainder of the program cost, b) after you send the deposit you'll be notified of your location and c) you send the rest of the money and count down the days 'til June 7!. I guess how quickly people hear is a function of how quickly people submit their $200 deposit and the remaining $1,800 and how many accepted students fail to meet the deadlines.

I am getting really frustrated with CLEO. If the process was so hard and competitive, why extend the deadline? :x
