Let's be honest, most people will do what it takes to give them a slight edge in admissions.
I'm 50% Puerto Rican and 50% white/other latino/???.
Would it be ok if I just put Puerto Rican on my applications?

You still count just as much as Puerto Rican if you do include the white part.

No if you identify as Puerto Rican you don't have to worry about it.

Re: Is it bad to not list both races?
I am a biracial applicant as well. I marked both AA and White, though I don't really identify as white it seemed disingenuous not to put it. However, you should list how you identity. If you only identify as white then mark only white. If you only identify as Puerto Rican, then only identify as such.
Correct me if Im wrong though, but I believe the "boost" is the same either way. In that if you mark biracial its the same "boost" as marking Puerto Rican. This seems to be what people on TLS say, but I cannot say for sure that its the case.

Interesting...I was wondering this as well. I'm half white, half black but I just marked black.

If you are half white, half other, concentrate on the "other" part. Nobody cares about your white part.
