Hey guys--ended up withdrawing my apps this summer after retaking the LSAT in February 2017 and have reapplied this year. Casting a much narrower net, but honestly expecting a similarly looooong wait this cycle so I will be checking in occasionally! PM me any questions, good luck everyone!

hey all! quick question. I am currently going through the 7sage curriculum in preparation for the December LSAT. I'm pretty busy with 7sage but I did buy the LSAT Trainer as well. Since I don't want to my money to go to waste, is there any particular section of the Trainer I should definitely prioritize? Anyone who has used the Trainer have any insight? Thanks!

How I ain't still checked in? I'm CHECKED IN!

My stats
LSAC GPA: 4.01
LSAT: September 17 pending
Graduated from well-regarded CUNY College, now a PhD student at Berkeley Law. My softs go hard as hell (in my opinion). What LSAT score do I need to have a better than random chance at H/Y/S? Would stay at Boalt, but it gotta be with $

Edit: Also trying to go to legal academia, so I kinda have to shoot for the stars.

I know an AA Male that got H with a 166 and i cant remember his gpa but it was lower than 3.8 for sure. Pretty sure for H at least URMs can get into with high gpas and 165+ and all the other stuff.

Also i feel like the general consensus is you can only do academia from HYS (maybe Chicago) there may be some exceptions but for the most part HYS which is a harsh reality for people who want full tutition merit scholarships

I'm using the trainer! (I have four more lessons still to go) In my honest opinion...
For all: Lesson 31: LSAT Vocabulary
For RC: Lesson 35: Question Strategies
For LR: pg 487 - 488 Question Stem: Quick Quiz ; pg 256 (Lesson 16: Sufficient Assumption & Supporting Principle)
For LG: Lesson 28: The Good and the Great

I'm considering attending the lsac forum in NYC. Hopefully I can get a few fee waivers before I apply. I regret not taking the sept lsat. :(

Hey all,

Been lurking on TLS for a while but just came across this thread today and so happy I did. Latino male, first gen, 3.2 from top20 undergrad with a masters too and took lsat in Sept, wishing these scores would just be released already. Of course how I do on lsat will help trim schools list down, but shooting for 162-165 realistically, and hoping to go to Fordham with $$

Hey, I sent my first application in yesterday (harvard) and I noticed today that I forgot an article in my personal statement. I was wondering if I should send them a correct version. The sentence it is in is the first sentence of the third paragraph if that makes a difference.

Same here.

Are you guys planning to still submit now and hold for review (for the schools that allow it) or just wait until after December scores are released before submitting apps?

I think I’m going to try to submit and be held for review. I don’t know how that’ll work out with studying for the retake, but it will probably end up with me submitting after the December test but before scores are released. The reason is a personal one (accountability lol). If I tell myself to wait until scores are released, I’ll inevitably submit like two weeks after that date and disadvantage myself even further.

Is anyone applying to NYU? They specifically ask if you are a member of an underrepresented group and ask you to attach a statement. If I'm not writing a diversity statement, what should I do? List my group but just not include a statement?

I am applying. I used my DS as my underrepresented statement. If you do identify yourself as one I would at least write 1-2 paragraphs describing that and how it affects/impacts you as an individual.

I wanted to do it but my score doesn't even hit their 25th so I'm paranoid of getting rejected before taking December... just going to apply the minute scores drop I guess.
