Does anyone know if the choice is at the sole discretion of the interviewer or if there is a committee/group of law firm partners that make the final decisions?

The law firm doesn't choose you before you are accepted so they are not a part of the decision. It sounds like they ask the firms which schools they want interns from and accept us based on that. Since it sounds like we were all interviewed by the same two people I would think its up to their sole discretion.

Not exactly. If your interview didn't go well and/or they didn't like you, they'd express this to the committee who would then decide on you..more likely negatively since they would trust the opinion of the program's director.

I believe I read/heard that they were going to get all notifications out before deciding on the scholarship, so I wouldn't expect anything until early May at best.

Sorry for a likely redundant question, but is it for-sure that everyone who's selected will, indeed, be notified by this Friday, the 28th? Trying to figure out how long my nerves need to hold out before I can finally just stop being on-guard.

I don't think there has been any sort of guarantee in regards to when we will hear

I asked in my interview and Van Ann said we "should" hear back by the 28th, if we're admitted or rejected. I assume the acceptances are going to keep rolling out the next few days, and email rejections will be sent out on the 28th?

It is just Vann Ann calling I think, which might be why it's a longer wait ?

Just got the acceptance call from Van Ann! I deposited at SLS a couple weeks ago. I was placed in SF. My first choice was LA, but she said they don't have many spots there so they figured that SF would be a good choice for me since its near SLS. She said firm info will be coming in about a week. May 22nd is when the NY training starts, but they want us to be there by May 21st. Firm will be paying for housing in NY. June 5th is when we start working with our firms.

Congrats! I grew up in the bay you probably won't want to live in SF but in Oakland or San Leandro, based on your commuting preferences.
