Checking in! AA female from Temple. Blanketing the T-14. I honestly just want to go to any school within the T-14 for as cheap as possible!

hey guys. checking in! AA female from Oklahoma University. I am blanketing the T14, hoping for Georgetown, USC, Harvard, or Berkeley. I really like those areas in addition to wanting to into Big Law. I will take whatever T14 with decent money I can get though! Super excited to send in my apps! I can barely sleep at night.

Welcome ladies!

I think we all have some similar goals, so that is awesome! I am really excited to see what this cycle brings as well!

I have decided to join the HYS or bust club, at least for now. I just need the LSAT to match my GPA 8)

Probably applying this cycle! Nervous of course, LSAT is my biggest challenge

Puerto Rican, Male, graduated Rutgers-NB in 2015 (3.8, LSAC GPA 3.6  ). Paralegal'd for a year, and heading to UK for a year to do some grad school work for fun. Will be taking LSAT in September.

Hoping for a career in public interest or government, not considering BigLaw. I'm shooting for NYU and Berkeley since I think they fit my aims but won't be sure until LSAT scores of course. Not sure where else I should apply honestly, I don't think my scores will be that competitive.

Regional schools I'm looking at are Rutgers and Fordham, if I can somehow go for free :D

Best of Luck to all!!

Hey man!

Awesome work experience you'll have! As for the LSAT, don't let it be your biggest challenge. You have time, so don't push yourself to take until you are ready. I think for your interests of NYU/Berkeley your goal should be in the mid to high 160s at a minimum. Of course, always aim and train for a 180, but avoid taking the LSAT until you are hitting your goal consistently. A 3.6/165+ URM would have a really great chance at NYU and Berkeley.

Good luck!

Finally broke 160 on one of my PTs. I know it's still low but it's a big deal for me considering I started in the low 140s. For those that have experience with the LSAT or are also in prep mode, do you think 165 is a realistic goal by Sep?

Congrats!

I think that is hard to say. Do I think it is realistic with 2 months left, yes. However, that is going to be contingent on a few things. Such as what you are missing points on. If it is logic games, then I have no doubt that is a realistic goal by September. We have 2 months!

The second thing is making sure you are consistently hitting your target score by September.

Overall though, I think you will be in good shape for September with diligence and hard work. That said, don't be opposed to taking December's LSAT.

You have two months left, plenty of time to bring that score up to at least the mid-high 160s. Keep studying and keep up the good work.

Thanks guys. Yep, it's LG. My best section is RC (I usually can get anywhere from 80-100 percent here), followed by LR, then LG.

IDK about HIGH 160s though. While I would love that, I am not sure how realistic that is for me. I wish.[/quote]

Question... is anyone else struggling to differentiate their PS from diversity? It just seems like every PS I write touches on my moving to the US because, hey, it was a pretty major life experience. So now idk whether it's even worth it to do a separate diversity statement. Any thoughts?

Same problem with ps and ds... idk what to do to be honest.

Glad to know I'm not the only one struggling with this... I just made an appointment to talk to my pre-law advisor about this tomorrow, so I'll report back with her thoughts.

Yes please let us know. I'm struggling with the same problem.

Any tips to remembering all of the info from the power score bibles? I just finished LR and will finish LG this week.

I took some quick notes when I went through LRB, but just practicing will help instill what is most important to know for each question type.

For LGB, you will remember everything from just doing a lot of games. Not much use and trying to memorize much but inferences and how to set up specific game types.

I see. I regret not doing the problem sets after I finished reading the chapter. I did them in bulk when I finished the book which made them slightly harder.

Yup, that will definitely happen. Don't sweat it too much, just go back and look through the book at any question types you are having trouble with. I think it might actually be better in a way because you will be forced to actively seek out what you don't understand as opposed to just learning it for the first time.

On to LG. Doing linear setup right now. It's not too bad so far. I just hate that I always forget one or two setups in the problems. The multiple choices are much easier than the actual setup even if you don't finish them imo.

Don't worry! Just keep doing them, you'll get them in no time. All about repetition and memorizing inferences. :D

I remember hating the LG Bible, lol. Ugh, speaking of which my most recent PT score went down :(. So much for breaking 160.

Random question, is anyone applying to UVa this cycle?
