What are most of you guys planning to do for housing 1L year? on campus or off? alone or with roommate(s)?

Off campus and alone w/ my border collie mutt. Not willing to risk having a ridiculous random roommate

Not sure yet since I've got a wife and kid. Hoping to attend a school with family housing. Preferably cheap.

Probably Cambridge, New Haven or NYC. I need to visit first. If New York then I'll definitely need a roommate or 2

Well, if we both decide on Michigan, MAYBE having a roommate doesn't sound like the worst thing - depending on if you're cheap about rent or nah lol. But also, for summer start, you can sublet and I looked over some of the list and they're pretty affordable. Some are kind of pricey though

And yeah. I thought it would be a relief and for awhile I had decided I didn't like Ann Arbor so I didn't want to go to Michigan and would go to NU but then I started thinking about it more and now I'm completely undecided again so... yeah... this is fun lol.

I've been going back and forth about housing recently. I'm very conflicted about what I'll end up doing. My apartment is rent stabilized, my landlords are great, and I really don't want to part with my furniture. I'm toying with the idea of either subletting throughout the academic year and coming back to NYC every summer, especially since my bf is here permanently, or just moving all my stuff to wherever I end up and getting a studio and subletting that during summer, or just selling my stuff and going for lowest rent possible with roommates wherever I end up.

My bf really wants me to see if I can just sublet to him during the school year but I'd feel bad if I did that and then didn't actually have much control over whether or not I worked in NYC over the summer or not.

I kinda like a couple songs but all-in-all, I've been hitting skip a lot and I'm quite annoyed by his faux island accent lol

Edit: the songs I kinda like are the ones that are more of his "singing" voice that I don't even like but alas... here I am
