best of luck to fellow URMs this year!
OP, when you get the chance, can you put a spreadsheet similar to last years so we can track this year's movement?

Hey Prez,
Thank you--good luck to you as well!
I am from Upstate NY. I am interested in Harvard, Yale, Columbia, NYU, and Cornell. I'm not certain on what type of law I want to practice, but I am trying get Big law for a few reasons. I'm pretty open to a lot of types of law, though.
What about you, sir?

Canada - Harvard, Stanford, Columbia and NYU.PrezRand wrote:Good luck to all of you! Where are all of you from? Schools interested in? What kind of law do you want to practice?
Side note. If I didn't do a STEM degree, how hard is it to get into practicing IP law? I wasn't originally considering it, so its not a big deal. But I have been thinking about it a lot lately.

Military brat, so no specific place I'm from. Mainly interested in NYU or Columbia, but have a pretty wide range of schools on my list. Similar to O'Drama, I'm not 100% sure what I want to practice but am hoping for big law. But I do have an interest in criminal law as well.PrezRand wrote:Good luck to all of you! TX native. I'm mainly interested in Stanford, UVA, Georgetown, and UT. I'll probably apply to all T14s besides Cornell. I am really interested in banking, securities, and finance. Possibly economic law as well. I hope to also get a joint degree in MPP or designing my own. Since I have heard it is tough to crack markets you have no ties to, I am really only interested in working in DC or TX, although I do have ties to the East Coast. Big Law is the focus, but it seems so time consuming and stressful. I would not mind mid-lawbrinicolec wrote:Military brat, so no specific place I'm from. I'm blanketing the t-14, but including another8 or so schools. I know it's a lot, but I'm casting a wide net and hoping for a good cycle. Interested in international human rights law, so am hoping to end up in NYC or DC.

Nice! Good luck. Do you mind if I ask what your LSAT/GPA was. Approximately? Aiming for the same schools myself.

I'll be taking the Sept test but I'll be more than happy to post my my stats and cycle when I apply. African American male, aiming for Columbia, NYU, Harvard, Yale, UPen, and GT(these are just my top picks). Undergrad GPA: 3.32, several different on campus leadership positions and I have work experience. I wish everyone luck and a dope cycle. For the Sept test takers, study your ass off!
