Received that NYU call today! Now my choices are Chicago, NYU, or Berkeley. Do y'all know for those admitted this late in the game still receive scholarship offers for NYU?

I stalk your LSN girl, yes i do!!! HAHAHA
She's headed to Duke though, right?
On her LSN she noted that NYU is her dream school
Lmao!!! Y'all are so great. Thank you!

But yeah, I'm kind of a PI gunner and NYU has always been a pipe dream. Thought it was a definite WL/ding though so I already deposited at Duke bc of the scholarship. But if NYU comes within 15K of Duke, I have literally no idea what I'll end up doing. NYU really messed me tf up with this, I already got an apartment near chick-fil-a in Durham now I gotta reconsider everything  lol But really, I'm grateful. Just thrown for a loop.

Had a really weird cycle.

Accepted: Columbia, Cornell ($), Vandy ($$), WashU ($$$)

WL: Harvard, UT, Duke, GULC, USC

Reject: Penn

Haven't heard back from pretty much every other T20. Since I didn't get big money at a T14, Columbia makes the most sense.

Like I said, I had a really weird cycle lol. Just wanted to post this for future applicants.

CLS will likely give me some need-based grants at least.

Congrats on your cycle! Please post it in the cycle results thread too for future applicants: http://www.top-law-schools.com/forums/v ... 4&t=275052

BTW seems like a ton of URMs who got into some of HYSCCN got rejected by Penn. Seems to add credence to the theory (based on years past) that Penn doesn't give as big of a URM "boost"

Penn does YP though - if they feel like you'd go to a higher ranked school, they rej or WL.

Try negotiating with Cornell if you're interested in primarily NYC Big Law. I used some t6 acceptances (Chicago at sticker etc) and my money from Vanderbilt and WUSTL, and they upped me from no money to $$. It might be worth it depending on your goals.

Ahh I already gave up my 120k at WashU. Think Cornell would negotiate my current 60k offer with 90k at Vandy and a CLS acceptance? Sucks that I don't know how much I'm getting at CLS yet.

If they want to YP you they'd likely WL you - they get no benefit to rejecting you if they want you but are afraid that you'd potentially go elsewhere.

Do you still have the screenshot of the award letter? You can PM me, but I thought they wouldn't match but someone on here told me they were able to up their $$ with an ASU (t25) acceptance. I emailed them basically like, I got into these great schools AND I have some great money offers, but I really want to stay in new York, etc, and they sent me a financial aid offer the next day.

welcome! the most important thing is to get that LSAT score as high as it can be, even if that means 2 or 3 takes. Especially for NYU, they seem to be more numbers-based than most. GL!

Duke rejected my attempt at scholarship negotiation...but at least that means I'm one step closer to making a final decision

This cycle's biggest shocker and Mr. Chukes won't even see it until later (I think he's at USC's Law Day).

The priority deadline for NYU's FAAPS (their institution scholarship application) is April 15. You can still apply after that date but from the way they described it it's in your interest to apply ASAP.

I don't have the best gpa but I'm testing pretty well so fingers crossed and shoot a prayer up! My dream school is NYU and a shot at BL! Any advice that anyone could offer is super helpful! Female AA - 2 years out UG!

Big shouts to Mr Chukes and brinicolec - I've been following you two and am so happy for you two! Whoop! :D
Welcome, welcome. Lol.

My best advice would be +180 to what dietcoke said and also, really try to make the rest of your app immaculate since you say your GPA is lower. I don't think I had a super powerful PS, but some people do and swear it's what got them admitted!

And thank you! That's so sweet!
