Type of URM: Half AA female
GPA: 3.8-3.9
LSAT: 168-172
Softs: 2 years professional work experience, MA degree, variety of jobs in college, honors organizations, academic awards
Advice: Apply early, no later than Nov. 1. The summer beforehand, submit transcripts to LSAC, request letters from professors, fix your resume, and start your personal statement. Your personal statement should focus on one or two of your strengths and how you achieved them, how you changed, etc. in a narrative fashion. Avoid cheesy openings or lines. I used The Ivey Guide to Law School Admission (http://www.amazon.com/The-Ivey-Guide-Sc ... B004KABGMW), which was really helpful with all parts of the process, particularly the personal statement. It was written in 2005, but most of the advice still applies (ignore the multiple LSAT part, since the ABA now takes highest score, not average score).
