Hi guys. So I recently looked at my undergrad transcripts and saw that I have a number of Ws for some semesters. Could this get me dinged from the T14 or am I being unreasonably pessimistic?

A lot of the URMs at my school flunked out the first semester. Hence, our school took in transfer students.

So are you saying the Ws won't be much of an impact? Or are you saying they're a predictor of failure once I get in somewhere?

Along the lines of the recent poster...

So my LSAC GPA is a 2.92, and on my transcript are a few 1.0 range grades - despite everything averaging out to a non-horrendous GPA, should I be worried about the presence of those super low grades on my transcript?

Reporting Score: 143

I'm looking for advice on how to improve 20-30 points by June. Helpful comments appreciated!

I'm definitely serious; I think I'd be doing myself a disservice not to practice enough to get the highest score possible. Thanks for the helpful advice!

Downward trend or upward trend? Any reason for the low grades?

I think it's more frowned upon when it's a downward trend (which I had for various reasons I didn't explain to adcomm lol). I also think it's one thing if you were just messing around and goofing off instead of doing work vs. some sort of thing going on in your life that interrupted the normal flow of things for you that you can explain to adcomm. Anyone else feel free to correct me/add on though.

Anyhow, this thread is freaking me out. My undergraduate GPA is sucky but I've been practicing the LSAT recently and getting above 170. i was considering applying to law school 5 years ago but went an alternate route instead. I'm thinking this is the time to apply and get some MONEY MONEY MONEY!

I didn't realize there were that few blacks with decent LSAT scores!

Honestly, if you are AA and have a 3.0+ GPA you are pretty much guaranteed at least one T-14 acceptance with a Sept-Oct application and 158+ LSAT.

32 year old black male, mediocre LSAT, mediocre undergraduate GPA, nearly got academically dismissed from law school, passed NY bar on 3rd attempt.

My MBE went from 118.6 to a 149.3.

I'm so god damned tired of being treated in a condescending manner due to my skin color.

Does anyone have a link to last year data about Blacks and the LSAT? What LSAT score would put a Black mate at the top nationally?
