With a 3.6 you'd probably need a 176+ unless you're a URM.

With a 3.6 you'd probably need a 176+ unless you're a URM (for Harvard, probably still rejected by YS).
FTFY.

That helps enormously. You could probably get in there with a 170.... but you really, really need to do everything you can to max out your GPA. Can you take some summer courses to get a few additional A's? It would look a lot more solid if you had a 3.75ish. In any case, there is definitely a chance... good luck on your lsat prep.

No one can chance you until you actually get both of those numbers. When you have a 3.6 and a 170 come back. I'll tell you my thoughts then.

Credited. I'm taking this approach from now on. You shouldn't just come onto TLS and say, "oh hey, I'm going to get a 178 lsat next year and I should be able to boost my gpa .5 points or so as well.... what are my realistic chances?' Answer: there are none until you produce. If that weren't the case, I would have written my PS on what I was bound to accomplish in the year 2030. Alas, I'm still having problems constructing a flux-capacitor. Does anyone have a spare one?

Oh I do, but I'm missing that direct input cord. If you have one...its all yours.

I'm just making sure if my perception of this whole admissions process is anywhere close to accurate and that my goals will provide the ends that i want.

Uh oh, we have a stage 5 dreamer here. With that said, anything is possible, but if you are going to be a dreamer, it's good to at least start dreaming from a place of reason. A 137 diag is where you're currently at. If you took the test today, you wouldn't even be going to Cooley. Instead of thinking how you're going to decide between H, Y or S, you should be focusing on an intensive LSAT prep plan. No more theoretical/dream scenarios. That is, besides me of course b/c I'm going to have my flux capacitor running soon.

You have time to get your score up to the 160s. Take a prep course and do all of the LSAT practice test. Take a logic or philosophy course if your UG offers one.

This bit is funny to me because I went to this mock adcomm session that involved real PSs and real applicants, and the guy did exactly that. He wrote his PS in the form of a eulogy being delivered by his son. He talked all about all this stuff like making partner and rescuing children from wells. It was pretty poorly written and the Dean of Admissions said that she absolutely hated this and considered not admitting him on this basis alone (bad judgement).

+1

Impossible to talk about chances until you have a score in hand, esp. if your GPA is under 3.5.
