CPA choosing between Kent and Loyola. I've heard they're essentially the same but wanted some opinions. Kent gave 45k Loyola gave me nothing which already makes me lead more towards Kent. Looking to do tax law/estate planning

Kent gave you 45k a year? Or total?

What's your total COA at each? What salary do you envision making after school? And what's your current LSAT/GPA?

In my completely anecdotal experience, Kent does better in Chicago big law. But you should just look at the stats rather than trust me.

Kent does not "do better" in BigLaw. Both Kent and Loyola placed 17% of their respective classes of '18 into BigLaw.

OP should not go to either Kent or Loyola expecting BigLaw. There's an >80% chance they'd miss BigLaw from either school.

Loyola is out of the picture because of the scholarship situation. I'm making 80k right now & debating if it's even worth going to school. Ideally would like to make at least 6 figures but basically my goal is to not do accounting work forever.. trying to do something more meaningful if possible. Only reason I wanted to do tax law is to utilize my accounting knowledge. But even if I take a pay cut to do public interest or something I would like to do that and I have an interest in it. But loans are going to be crazy of course. Total cost to attend Kent is around 160k & I got 45k total from them. Also, I wanted to work Part-Time during but not sure how feasible that is.

You shouldn't go. Don't go to law school unless you want to be a lawyer, which is not the same as not wanting to be an accountant forever. Especially don't go to Kent hoping for a six-figure salary.
