Should any 0Ls come across this thread, be aware that the same advice being given about "hustling" into a lucrative practice is pretty much what you would hear if you joined Herbalife. It also has about the same success rate.

The legal market is oversaturated right now. That probably isn't changing. So if you can't practically guarantee a biglaw job after school, you cannot take on $100k+ in debt on a gamble.
+1. And to be clear, the above advice does not mean it's T13 or bust (or even T20 or bust). It also does not mean that BigLaw is the only "worthy" kind of legal career to aspire to. It does, however, mean that anyone who isn't attending a T13/T20 shouldn't count on landing BigLaw, and shouldn't be taking on a six-figure debt load (because non-BigLaw jobs are unlikely to pay enough to justify taking on so much debt). It's perfectly fine, for example, to attend a T1 or T2 at a reasonable cost and plan on being a PD or joining small law. It's not so smart, however, to attend a T2 counting on a $190k salary.
