The Seven Most Underrated Law Schools in the U.S.

Postby tlsadmin2 » Mon Feb 12, 2018 1:25 pm

These seven law schools are not in the top 10 according to US News or other major law school ranking systems, but they should still be considered if BigLaw is not your only goal as an attorney:

If you’re studying petroleum-related eminent domain, which needless to say, can be a very lucrative practice field in corporate law, there’s a strong chance a middle-tiered regional law school located in Texas, Louisiana, Utah or Colorado, might be a better choice than Yale or Stanford.

This is absolutely never true especially given Yale and Stanford's need-based aid.

Lol are you seriously tabulating differentials between US News ranks and LSAT rank as if that makes any difference at all?

48% of Pepperdine's 2016 graduating class had a job 9 months after graduation. So you have a coin flip's chance of being employed in a legal job after graduating from that school. Pepperdine is a not underrated. In fact, it's exactly rated, as a garbage scam school that costs $300,000 to attend.

Just lol at all of this.

I'd say Notre Dame, Tulane, (if you're Mormon) BYU, and (if you're AA) Howard are underrated and often over-perform at OCI.

Had to laugh at this one. Nobody goes to law school to study something that specific. You might take oil and gas law if your school offers it, and it will only touch on the subject. Few students graduating from "middle-tiered" schools have the luxury of focusing their job search so narrowly. If you want to be an oil and gas lawyer, your best bet is to go to HYS and go work for a biglaw firm with a strong specialty in oil and gas like V&E.

The employment numbers you are giving are slightly inaccurate.
