I'm a 0L planning on attending law school next year. I'm trying to stay in the NY/NJ area, and Fordham (20k/yr scholarship), Rutgers Newark, and St. Johns (both full rides) are my top choices. I've worked a couple undergrad internships at DA offices, and am considering pursuing a career in prosecution (it seems like a full ride would be ideal if I'm going the prosecution route).
That being said, Fordham is appealing because I think it would give me a better chance at BigLaw and fed clerkships (I'm not dead set on prosecution, and I don't want to rule out going private). I have minimal undergrad debt, and my parents offered to help with cost of living to lighten the load if I end up choosing Fordham.
These forums have been really helpful throughout this process, and I'd appreciate your thoughts on these options. Thanks!

I'd pick Fordham because it is a significantly better schoold than the other two.
Also, does your St. Johns scholarship have minimum GPA requirements?

Seems like you already understand.
Take either full tuition scholarship if certain that you want to become a local prosecutor; for more & better options if not certain of career path, then Fordham is probably the best choice among your 3 options.

St. Johns has a stip of top 60%- do you think that's pretty typical?Thomas Hagan, ESQ. wrote:I'd pick Fordham because it is a significantly better schoold than the other two.

Never take a scholarship that has GPA requirements, in the first place. Top 60% is another layer of "scam" on top of that. Fordham is the must better/safer choice.USBs wrote:St. Johns has a stip of top 60%- do you think that's pretty typical?Thomas Hagan, ESQ. wrote:I'd pick Fordham because it is a significantly better schoold than the other two.

Fordham is a much better option than the other two. Just know that Big Law is not a guarantee from there, and if you do not land Big Law then you will have a lot of trouble paying off the debt
