Law School Ranking Question

I was wondering why Belmont University in Nashville has a RNP (Rank not published) in USN.
I know they are a newer law school but they have great bar passage rate and according to the ABA - decent employment outcomes.

Is it harder for newer schools to get published ranks? I think Belmont opened in 2010-2012.
Start Class website (which I'm not sure holds any credibility) has them ranked #69.

Any ideas? I'm just curious.

I see the section on US news that describes RNP and the method used to rank things. I guess I'm just curious about how hard it is for newer schools to climb the rankings and if USN is the end all be all for ranking systems.

Is Belmont ABA accredited? Based on how new the school is, I'm guessing they aren't yet.

For perspective, UCI opened in 2008 and its first USN ranking came in 2015. IIRC, there's a period that a law school has to be open before it gets its first USN ranking. So, Belmont has a while to go.

IMO, USN is the end all be all for rankings when you consider that's what admission offices care about the most.

Yeah, it's accredited.

Ah okay, it probably just needs more time then.

I actually went and checked, and it looks like it's not accredited yet. Belmont has been granted provisional approval, so it's got another few years to go before it's up for accreditation.

ABA accreditation is not instantaneous for new schools.

They have full accreditation as of 2016.

55 of the 58 2016 grads who were employed (out of 69 total) remained in Tennessee. 2 more in DC and 2 more in KY (don't blame me, it's their math not adding up). Only 1 grad made it to a firm 500+. While the proportions may be on par with some ranked schools, The odds of being that 1 person are 1 in 69. Not great. It's either a new school on the way up to greatness or an almost-TTTT. Too soon to reach any conclusions.
