Texas v Gtown
Native Texan. Goal is to work in Houston biglaw.
Full scholly for COA covered for both Georgetown and UT.
Loved Georgetown, but is UT the smartest choice for my goals?

I'd probably go with GULC based on what little was provided here.

I know nothing about the Texas market, but weren't some UT people posting on here about Texas firms having lower grade cutoffs at GULC than at UT?

Yeah I think in general when it comes to big law GULC will give you much more wiggle room. Hence:existentialcrisis wrote:I know nothing about the Texas market, but weren't some UT people posting on here about Texas firms having lower grade cutoffs at GULC than at UT?
But there could be a number of things that tip the scales in UT's favor. Like backup goals. Which you're going to need from either school because big law odds ain't super great at either.BigZuck wrote:I'd probably go with GULC based on what little was provided here.

Yeah, back up is important. What if you strike out of biglaw from both? Where do you want to work if you miss Houston biglaw?
