Loans get completely wiped so you shouldn't.

Can't get back the three years. Obviously should have known better though.

What is the justification for forgiving loans in this situation? They're not enrolling new students, but presumably they're going to graduate their current students, right?

Yeah, I hope that more of these scams shut down so the students can live remotely normal lives without the burden of debt.

For profit complicates this, but you're absolutely right. Infinilaw is a satan beast.

"The Board also entered into conversations with entities capable of investing in, merging with, or acquiring the Law School."

Sounds like not even the for-profits wanted to get involved.

Good riddance. Now if only another 50 or 60 schools would follow suit....

Isn't Charlotte already shutting down though? Thought they weren't enrolling a new class (which is typically the first step of shutting down). Or did the Trump DOE save them?

The student meeting where this was announced.

This is painful to watch for a lot of reasons. Some students try to paint the closing as an attack on minorities. The level of denial here is just stunning. You can't help but feel bad for the students who are stuck with $200k in debt from this place, but good Lord it is hard to listen to them try and deflect the blame onto everyone else.

"The past job numbers are irrelevant because I know our classes' numbers are going to be great. I'm retaking my 3L year, and I have 3.0!"

Did anyone else get the email from Charlotte saying that anyone who applies to Charlotte and is accepted can take a FREE credited summer course?? That's kind of cool I guess. If I had the free time and lived in Charlotte I might've considered that haha

Man that was painful to listen to. I feel for all of those students, but how could they have not known when they entered the school that their future was in a shaky place?

Holy shit, listening to this is insane. I feel bad for them but the situations are awful and I have no idea how someone can put themselves in that situation.

"I have over $200k in debt because of this school"

"We are way above what we need to be to be ABA accredited" (yeah that is the mark you want to meet)

"How did you conduct your investigation, did you just look at numbers or did you actually come here and meet people?"

"Did you look at the jobs current 3L students have, we have far higher numbers. If you looked at those, you wouldn't be saying what you are saying?!?!"

"Do you want a suggestion? I am redoing 3L and have a 3.0 in blank class. You should implement that more."

"What happens to the 4ls?!?!"

wow.

In one of the articles I read about this, one student about to graduate was wholly concerned with the implications the school closing would have on his diploma. I do feel bad they're all in this situation, but, at least for those students who get to graduate, the school shutting down is the least of their problems.
