Wake Forest: 20.1% [12.3%] (+7.8%)
FYI this is closer than the initial number, but still a tiny bit off: 31 BL +7 fed clerks = 38/184 = 20.7% [12.3%] [+8.4%]
Biglaw is 16 + 9 + 5 = 30

Edit: there is 1 person who is "full time, short term" which does not count for biglaw statistics
My bad, was looking at the less detailed version on the website that showed 17.

I did the t15-t50 schools by hand for both 2016 and 2015 so if anyone thinks there's a mistake please double-check. I'd be surprised if I did every school perfectly.

Northwestern's Comprehensive employment data is up: http://www.law.northwestern.edu/profess ... index.html

68.27 % of the class making at least six figures.

Six Figures + Federal Clerk is 188/249 = 75.5 %

We've always known this to be the case at the schools with 3 year JD/MBA (Northwestern, Columbia, and Penn)

That's exactly 3LOL behavior, as I have papers to write and classes I haven't been to in weeks, but instead spent my energy doing anything but those things.

They have Kellogg MBAs. Was there really any doubt they'd be getting great jobs?

1) Wharton is not remotely pertinent to the point of this discussion.
2) Thank you for stating the obvious

The point is that it's not remotely surprising that the JD advantage/business jobs for a school with an M7 MBA program are well-paying.

I think the equation would change if Yale had its own B school.

I can't tell if you're serious or if this is just a really nice burn on SOM (which it definitely deserves). But it's true that some dual-degree students turn down the built-in JD-MBA in order to do business school at Harvard.

Interesting that the median salary of jobs w/ 51-100 firms is 180k.

you realize that the "median" is out of a sample of 5, right?

So at least 3 people were getting paid market. That'd raise their BL+FC by 1%!

and the 25th is 160k, mean is 153k, which means the salaries were 65, 160, 180x3.

There is a bunch of (if not better than biglaw) midlaw/JD Advantage jobs available, but they're discounted equally for all schools, so for comparison purposes, BL+FC is fine. The only schools that suffer disproportionately are HYS.

Think that's really disingenuous, considering Chicago, Penn, and Northwestern have M7 business schools and are likely landing much better JD Advantage jobs than Michigan, UVA, Berkeley, etc. (save for HYS).

Do we know that MBA jobs are categorically filed under "JD Advantage"? If someone gets a JD/MBA at Penn and decides to go into PE, I don't think that's filed under "JD Advantage" for the JD ABA report... is it? Maybe MBB fits under that, but consulting firms hire people with only JDs from like CLS.

Is there actually a big difference between the M7 and the next 5-10 or so business schools? I know Michigan, UVA, and Berkeley all have top programs but is it kind of analogous to the T20 schools in law on the outside looking in to the T13?

ETA: I ask because I know a bunch of folks at UVA doing the JD/MBA program and many go into IB or something.

I think the gulf between the T13 and T20 is much bigger (this year is an anomaly in which the T20 is overperforming) than the gulf between M7 and the next few business schools.

Columbia too has 10 FTLT business/industry grads with a median salary of 135k and a 25th percentile of 125k. So these are definitely legit jobs (likely consulting or finance).

This isn't necessarily true at all the t14 schools though. Michigan class of 2015's median business/industry salary was 74k (we don't have 2016's yet).
