what in the literal fuck is going on in this thread?

also, what happened to Berkeley's employment stats? Is legal hiring in the bay area in the toilet?

A lot more grads went to really small firms. Question is whether these are desirable boutique jobs or shitty jobs. My presumption is the former but that's a guess.

Besides that the numbers generally look fine to me, though they could be a bit better (in particular the number of unemployed students is a bit too high relative to most of the t13). Slight drop in clerkships, but that's not surprising given how well they did last year. It's also just a school that's going to have a lot of students self-selecting out of biglaw.

I'll add that I'm going to Berkeley. This means that I both looked at the numbers fairly closely when they came out, and of course that I'm also biased to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Also, totally unrelated, but does Iowa always do this well? From a fairly quick glance it looks like they crushed it relative to other similar schools

Dunno - but California market is tough for entry level, but pretty easy for laterals

haha nah. I mainly only go into the lounge for the NHL thread. 1L has kept me from TLS until recently. Been thinking about becoming more regular in the lounge tho.

I am wondering what's other options are there apart from "BL (101+) + FC" and "unemployed, in school-funded positions, deferred starting dates, and unknown employment"?

Small law office work? JD not required positions?

I am asking because percentage in the first thread don't add up to 100%, and I would like to understand more of what the difference means. Thank you!
