Re: Class of 2015 Employment Statistics by School
I was clicking around and somehow found this - https://law.duke.edu/employdata2016/
There is info on the site plus a link to ABA info, which look basically identical. I didn't do the math but it looks like it was a pretty good year.

Duke was 93% bar passage required.
Stanford doesn't have numbers for the class of '15 yet.

It means the job requires bar passage so I don't think CA vs. nationwide matters.

In all seriousness, any theories on why Stanford sends a higher number of people to professional positions? It's still <10 students, so probably within 1 std dev of error, but interesting nonetheless.

I think it's the tech startups. Honestly, that's not a bad outcome at all.

Big time performance from Duke. Would be great if someone could compile these in the OP or another thread somewhere.Biglaw1990 wrote:74.52% of Duke's Class of 2015 is working at a firm with 100+ attorneys or clerking for a federal judge

In terms of % of class in firms of >100 people + fed clerkshipsAnonymous User wrote:would be interesting to see comparisons between last year and this year with the t20 re: jobs
Of the top 50ish schools that have published 2015 stats:
School 2014 -> 2015
Stanford 74.9% -> 77.9%
Penn 78.1% -> 76.8%
Duke 70.2% -> 76.4%
GW 32.4% -> 35.5%
Fordham 37.0% -> 35.4%
UC Hastings 14.4% - 21.8%
Arizona 8.3% -> 13.2%
Villanova 16.8% -> 14.1%

Doesn't seem to differentiate between federal and state clerkships.NoChainz wrote:https://www.law.upenn.edu/careers/emplo ... istics.phpToday wrote:Penn is up, 90% bar required positions, 77% big law and fed clerkship.

Re: Class of 2015 Employment Statistics by School
Also, not exactly what you asked for, but somewhat related. Here is a year by year comparison of % in Biglaw+Fed clerkships from 2010 through 2014:Anonymous User wrote:would be interesting to see comparisons between last year and this year with the t20 re: jobs
T14 Schools Average
2010- 65.8%
2011- 56.7%
2012- 64.2%
2013- 65.6%
2014- 68.0%
T15-26 Schools Average (In terms of placement, not USNWR. Vandy, UT, UCLA, USC, BC, BU, GW, Fordham, ND, WUSTL, Emory, and UIUC. These same 12 schools have made up spots 15 through 26, except for UIUC being 27th in 2011 and 2012 (W&L and UCI bumped them out), and Emory being 27th in 2013 (UCI bumped them out)
2010- 35.3%
2011- 27.6%
2012- 31.3%
2013- 34.3%
2014- 36.4%
So 2014>2010>2013>>2012>>>>2011. So far, it looks like 2015 will be a few percentage points improvement on 2014 for both groups, and the best year since increased transparency started.
