State clerks are kind of like PI positions. Some are great and very competitive, others are uncompetitive and not all that likely to improve one's job prospects down the line. Generally the higher up you go in the food chain from trial court to state supreme court the more impressive the clerkship becomes. But GAAP requires us to award no points for state clerkships.
Ah, I see. Thanks!

The way I look at it is I would find it hard to believe that the Columbia vs. NYU biglaw % are that far apart w/o some level of increased self-selection into PI going on at NYU as compared to the rest of CCN and Penn, which lately has garnered a great biglaw reputation.
But but but

0.69 + 0.17 = 0.86%

26.9% employed in FTLT legal jobs.

I had no idea their class size was so enormous.

More people unemployed than have LT/FT bar-required jobs. Now that's impressive! I'm sure they'll claw their way back to #2 in the rankings next year.

NYU is great if you're into spending your weekends dodging the vomit of guidos and guidettes partying on W4th :)

48.5 + 29.4 = 77.9

Is that right?

Is PI or Class Size the reason Penn comes out ahead of NYU?

Not to drag things off topic, but using that photo as representative of Penn's law school building is as deceptive as using raw biglaw percentage as representative of Penn's placement power.

On topic, so much for any supposed recovery of the legal market. These are basically last years numbers redux.

Seems to be mild improvement in some quarters. Fordham had a stronger showing than I'd expected**

**could be deceptive due to "staff attorney" and doc review, since tons of those jobs seem to be part time, short term or both

All the T14s + WUSTL/Fordham are up. It's not a huge increase but it's something.
