What did you think? I heard the building is outdated but still a great school- I'm looking to go into public interest law and I don't know much about their program, so any information would be helpful.

Fordham is pretty ace. Great location. Great Academics. Great Rep. The facilities are ok. The only thing is if you are used to a "campus" you'll be diapointed as it's just a building in midtown.

LOL, busy day. I have my own graphic, too, and I have no idea who made it. I don't know where it stops.

OP, you should come visit. Our campus is small, but the atrium is quite lovely, and our neighbor across the street is the Metropolitan Opera House! The school is building a new, modern law building, but it won't be finished before we graduate.

This is how our school will look in a few years:

The current building is from the '60s. People have stopped saying it looks like a high school, though, because they're afraid of what I'll do to them. I think it has charm, and I really hope they won't tear it down.

Fordham has a great location... you can't beat the Upper West side. Close to Central Park and Lincoln Center - though i imagine finding an affordable place nearby would be pretty difficult.

Haha, we don't know. Some time after 2012, depending on how quickly the school can get the necessary permits. Certain UWS residents are pissed that their views will be obscured by the new building.

Most people either live with roommates, or within a half hour of the school (uptown, or in Brooklyn or Queens). I wanted to walk to class, so I have a roommate. My share of the rent is $1,270 a month.

One of my favorite areas in the city. I was just talking to a friend about this the other day. The more time I spend in NYC, the more I look forward to coming to this area. It's classy without being pretentious about it. Perfect if you're looking for something more relaxed and less crowded than actual downtown, including a great selection of restaurants and bars within 10 blocks. The area of central park it borders (8 o'clock region) is also the best part of the park imo.

I must say the same of your school's neighborhood. I always look forward to coming up to Morningside Heights, which has lots of unpretentious bars that don't charge an arm and a leg, as well as the most delicious Ethiopian food in the city. It's also fun to run back and forth on the CLS bridge while in a state of debatable sobriety.

Your classmates (the 1L ones whom I actually know) are uniformly awesome, and we frequently drink with them. Uptown is a perfect respite from drama and stress, though I do love my own neighborhood with an unyielding passion. (I'm not the only one, apparently. My father announced he wants to kick me out my apartment, take over the lease, and live in my neighborhood. I pointed out that he still works for the state of California, so this would be difficult.)

Magnolia = across the street from me. I will weigh 300 pounds before I graduate.

Come back to New York before you run off to New Haven. You need to visit us!

Magnolia got too famous and now its overpriced...

However, if you ever venture into the east village area, the pumpkin cupcakes at Sugar Sweet Sunshine are delectable.

Babycakes is actually my favorite bakery in the city, but getting to Broome St is a huge PITA from here. I feel bad about getting Crumbs cupcakes, since I can't finish them. The cake itself is better, but the frosting, not so much. Butter Lane, near my old apartment (I used to live on the same block as Webster Hall, which had its plusses and minuses) sells frosting shots for $1. I suppose I am a purist.

Come back, though! We miss you! We can also go to Levain Bakery in the W 70s and get cookies that are bigger than our heads.
