Hi,

I have been searching for a well-informed/intelligent answer re: Is pursuing a PharmD/JD (or PhD/JD) worth it?

I have already taken the LSAT, but have decided that I would like to explore my scientific roots further (I have a BS in Chemistry). I have a 166/3.76. I am looking at USC; USC has a top law school and PharmD program, in addition to a Joint Degree program specifically tailored to PharmD/JD.

My reasons for pursuing the joint degree are two-fold.
One, I would like to work as a pharmacist for a while, and then perhaps switch over to legal work (concomittantly using my experience gained in pharma as an IP lawyer.) I like having a variety of careers - I like switching it up.
Two, I feel that having only a pharm degree is limited, in the sense, that I cannot impact policy, change health insurance or drug law armed only with a scientific degree.

Anyone with any experience in either areas, I would greatly appreciate your feedback. Thanks! :D
