For those of you that have applied, how long after you submitted your application were you offered an interview or denied?

I have the same exact question, only I applied in October last year, a representative name Tamesha Harper emailed me asking for my LSAT score however i hadn't taken the test so i didn't have it. I was then told to update my profile.

i think it seemed this year like they sent out interview notifications VERY quickly... some people had just submitted their apps the day before they heard about interviews. someone was asking whether it was maybe just an automatic invite this year...

I submitted mine on the 1st round due date in December and got the email the next day. So...it might be automatic?

Too bad there aren't any more interview spots in LA...I have to drive up to Stanford.

EDIT: actually, I was inspired to check back and now they have LA dates available. Woo hoo! No 6-hour drive!

I just got an invitation to apply to that today. I had never heard of it. Is it even worth me applying since so many have already done so?

I have no idea how many they take but it couldn't hurt. The application's not bad.

I think it's totally worth the attempt! I haven't gotten word from them yet, but I applied earlier this week, not sure what to make of it. They require a picture though...maybe didn't like mine...=)

I think the final number is around 50...but I'm sure some people turn it down because of the difficulty of moving to NYC. This year might be kind of weird with so many partner firm layoffs...I wonder if SEO has to reduce the interns it takes if the partner firms can't take as many...

Last summer they took 60+, with 7 or so in DC and the rest in NYC. The year before was 50+, I believe.

And yes, I'd suspect that the numbers may be lower this year with the economic downturn, law firm layoffs, etc. Especially considering that I think one of SEO's partner firms actually completely dissolved :/ (Thelen or Thacher, I think.)

They took 65 last year. And you're right: a couple firms have dropped out this year, and Thatcher is dissolving entirely.

Eek. Hope they liked me!

Fewer people may accept than in previous years. The cost in moving to New York is rather significant and would have to come out of pocket before you ever start getting paid.

I'm kind of nervous. I was offered an interview, finally! After not hearing from them since I applied, except for those webinar things.

This link has been a lot more active:

It's sort of slow going, but a few people on the other thread have been either accepted or rejected in the last month or two. The wait continues!
